Can you drink the water in Lanzarote?

No, buy bottled mineral water instead. Due to the weather and scarcity of rainwater, much of the tap water is desalinated seawater. As such, you might not like the taste. Bottled water is cheap and readily available from the onsite mini-shop.

Aloe products

Lanzarote aloe is some of the best in the world and is perfect for sunburn, stings and bites. You can buy direct from the factory shops on the island, at the airport or at Las Calas.

How to get around Lanzarote?

Lanzarote is a small island and easy to get around. There are several options available to visitors.

Public bus

Public bus services on Lanzarote are good especially between the main towns and resorts on the southeast coast. Known as the guagua, it’s efficient, clean, affordable and easy to understand. However, it is a little less regular inland and it’s certainly not the fastest way to get around. So be patient!

There is an Intercity Bus directly from the airport to Puerto Del Carmen and Playa Blanca. This runs every half an hour between 7.30am and 10.30pm.

A full list of routes and timetables can be viewed on the Arrecife bus website. Just select which route you want information on.

If you are going to be doing a lot of bus travel then a Bono card is a great option. It gives visitors a 10% discount on any of the Intercity buses or at the Arrecife Bus Station. Just ask the bus driver.

Taxi

Official taxis are painted a uniform colour – white for Arrecife and Haria, and red and white for other areas. They all have a taxi sign on the roof. All fares are metered and government controlled and cheaper than northern Europe.

For a door-to-door service when you land, you can pick up a taxi outside Terminal 1 at the airport.

There are no mini-cabs or Uber on these island at the time of writing this page.

Taxis can be booked through Reception.

Car Hire

The best way to see every part of the island is by hiring a car. Driving is easy and the roads are good. It’s best to hire a car in advance, especially in the busy season. Don’t forget to bring your plastic license and paper license to be on the safe side, and to check if there are any other requirements prior before you travel.

Driving in the EU.

Cycle Hire

There are plenty of places to hire bikes in Puerto del Carmen.

Transfers

Pre-book your airport transfers in advance and you can skip any queues and get to your resort even faster.

Is the resort wheelchair accessible?

Yes. We have a range of one-bedroom apartments suitable for less mobile guests. We have lifts and ramps across the resort so every area is accessible by guests. If you have any specific needs, then please let the team know at the time of booking and they will do their best to accommodate you. The resort is located on a hill above Puerto del Carmen so we advise using the local taxi service if you want to visit the town.

I want to self-cater, are there supermarkets in the local area?

Yes, there are a number of supermarkets in the local area as well as our own on-site mini-shop for essentials like bread, milk, water and snacks. Lidl is just a short distance away and is the cheapest place to shop on the island. The reception team can give you directions.
